The Updated Magic Pulley™ is Ideal
For Classroom Evaluations.
The Magic Pulley™ Measures:
- Velocity
- Acceleration
- Distance Traveled
- Time Traveled
This unique computerized pulley pulls prototypes (land or water) into action.
The Magic Pulley™ can accurately measure prototypes or compare moving
objects against each other. Use it to illustrate testing and evaluation procedures
as it pushes or pulls student-designed prototypes into action.
To begin, students design and construct a basic vehicle out of materials and
tools that the teacher provides. Next, they can connect the prototype to the
Magic Pulley™ using a cord. One end of the cord goes over the pulley,
the other end of the cord is tied to a weight.
As the weight is released, the prototype will travel toward the Magic Pulley™.
The sensor sends information to the computer.
Using the included software, record the acceleration rate, velocity, distance-traveled,
and time-traveled of prototypes. When the computer is finished making the necessary
calculations, 2 detailed graphs will appear on the screen to illustrate the
recorded data.
Constructed with a low-friction ball bearing. Does not include mounting stand - teachers can make their own.
Has a USB interface to IBM PC. Win '98sp2-XP. Grades 6 to College.
