Measuring and recording local weather data is an important
aspect of understanding
climate. With the KELVIN© Weather Station young geologists can take weather
readings like barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, minimum and maximum
temperatures and rainfall. This information can be recorded and analyzed to study
weather conditions and, possibly, to predict changes in weather. Students learn
about weather instruments, data collection/recording and analysis of data.
The KELVIN© Weather Station Lab includes:
- Barometer
- Min/Max Thermometer
- Wind Vane
- Compass
- Hand Held Anemometer
- Housing and Mount
- Data Recording Sheets
