Manage The Environment Responsibly
In this module students will learn about the environment and the damage that can
result from the poor management of discarded waste products. The module will
also focus on some of the important things people can do to protect the environment.
Today many communities have recycling programs.
These programs are important for several reasons. Recycling reduces the amount
of trash that needs to be taken to a landfill or burned. Recovered materials
can be made into new materials and finished products. For example, recycled
newspaper can be made into cardboard and recycled plastic bottles can be made
into new containers and even clothing.
Recycling also saves energy. It takes much less energy to produce aluminum,
paper and glass products from recycled materials than it does from raw materials.
