The Earthquake Design Challenge for Bridges and Structures! Students begin by designing a tower or bridge from balsawood. Attach it to the E.Q. Machine and turn the earthquake on! Vary the speed using the variable speed power supply (sold separately) and see how long it takes before the structure begins to fall apart. Another challenge is to design a shock reduction mechanism for structures made out of foam, string, etc. Includes a 1000g (1kg) weight which can be attached to the structure to give it more destruction mass.
