This fast easy to assemble catapult (some call it a Ballista)
can be used for fun competitions. Pull back the arm and let the
'pin pong ball'. Can be made in one lesson then have the next
lesson to test out and hold a competition.
As a competition, start by placing a box to catch the balls a
distance of 3 meters away from the catapult and see if you can
get the balls into it. You can make up your own rules. Users can
adjust angle, the force used to get the best result.
Students can learn about movement, triangulation, force, stored
power, potential energy trajectory, competition, testing, accuracy,
calibration, stability, elastic power.
All aspects of performance are easy and fast to adjust:- the
amount of leverage the throwing arm has, the trajectory angle
and the power applied by the elastic band making this ideal for
class competitions. Can be folded flat to store for next lesson
or to take home.
Includes a ball.
