Direct Drive Edition
Sophisticated and easy to use our award-winning
scientific simulation program allows students to design, test, and print cars,
providing data on cause and
effect and technical efficiency.
As "design engineers," users build
cars on screen, specifying chassis length, wheelbase, engine type, transmission,
fuel tank size, suspension, steering,
tires and brakes.
Car Builder teaches principles involved in building aerodynamic, efficient
and safe cars. It introduces users to computer-aided design (CAD), enhances
problem-solving
skills, and fosters an elementary knowledge of physics and automotive design.
Car
designs and road and wind tunnel test results can be printed and stored for
later use or modification.
Bilingual, users can toggle freely between English
and Spanish. School Versions include freely reproducible lesson plans and
manipulative masters. Direct
Drive allows the entire program to install directly on the hard drive of
each computer.
After installation, the CD is not needed. Grades 3 and up.
